North Waziristan operation to spread war flames to whole country, warns JI

  LAHORE, May 30: The Jamaat e Islami chief, Syed Munawar Hasan, has warned that  military operation in North Waziristan would trigger a major war in the region with the Muslims blood being shed on both sides. Expressing grave concern over the reports of military operation in North Waziristan in a statement here, he stressed upon the government and the armed forces to refrain from such an unwise operation at the US bidding as Washington wanted to spread the war flames to every nook and corner of Pakistan and pit the masses against their armed forces. NATO AIR STRIKE--12KIDS AND 2 WOMEN KILLED IN AFGHANISTAN

Lashkar Gah(Afghanistan): NATO air strike killed twele  kids and two women in Lashkar Gah in one of the worst case of civilian casualties by foreign forces in recent months.Meanwhile Afghan President have issued warning to US and NATO troops that their "their arbitrary and and unnecessary operations" were resulting in killing of innocent peoples almost every day. Afghan President issued a statement from Afghan Palace wherein he said that the incident in Helmand province in the south was a big mistake.Meanwhile International and Pakistan media reported that Karzai has issued last warning to US and NATO forces to avoid operations that kills civilians.

WTO – Status and the Way Ahead

Institute of Policy Studies, Islamabad organized a roundtable tilted “WTO: Status and the Way Ahead “, in collaboration with the Rawalpindi Chamber for Commerce and Industry at the chamber’s premises on April 28.   Fasih Uddin , former Chief Economist Government of Pakistan and Member, IPS NAC was the main speaker. Opening the discussion, Aman Ullah Khan, Chairman WTO Committee of the chamber presented a brief overview of the evolution of multilateral trading regime, introduction of WTO, its objectives and functions. He emphasized that as Pakistan was one of the founding members of GATT since September 1947, the predecessor of WTO; it meant that the country stood for multilateral system of free and fair trade from very beginning.
