JI to stage sit in against NATO supplies and US interference

LAHORE(Pakistan), June 3: The Jamaat e Islami chief, Syed Munawar Hassan, has said that the JI sit-in in Karachi against NATO supplies and the US interference on June 4 and 5 would be in line with the parliament’s resolution and the aspirations of the people.
Addressing the Friday congregation at Mansoora here, he said the parliament through its joint resolution had demanded stoppage of NATO supplies in case of drone attacks but the rulers were violating the constitution and degrading the nation by not complying with that.
He wondered why the government was not announcing pull out of the US war despite the demand of the elected parliament. Peace and stability could not be restored in the country without adopting a free and independent foreign policy, he added.
Syed Munawar Hasan said that the NATO forces were getting arms and ammunition through Pakistan and these arms were being used against our citizens. However, the rulers did not have to the courage to stop these supplies.
He said, the US could not stay in Afghanistan for single day without Islamabad’s support. However, instead of benefiting from the Pakistan’s strategic importance, the rulers had placed the country and the nation under US subjugation. US had already invaded this country and its forces had started ground attacks through Afghan border and these attacks were likely to increase.
The JI chief said that the 18 Indian Consulates on the Afghan border were sending saboteurs for terrorist activities in this country. But our rulers and the army high ups were keen to strengthen ties with India instead of lodging protest and charging it for terrorism in this country. India, on the other hand, had been befooling this country in the name of dialogue only to get trade facilities and avoiding discussion on the core issue of Kashmir.
He pointed out the India was the biggest beneficiary of the attack on the PNS Mehran in Karachi as it dreaded the Orien  planes with the Pakistan navy. India was now threatening of attacks inside Pakistan and the nation should be prepared to make every sacrifice to frustrate enemy designs.
He said the US, India and Israel could purchase a few selfish and shameless individuals from this country but they should not underestimate the Pakistani nation which would safeguard their country at every cost.
He was confident that the JI sit-in tomorrow would be harbinger of public  awakening at a massive scale and compel the rulers to review their policies.
